How does it work?

Pricing of your book to be eligible

To start the Authors’ Review Network, we are accepting e-books priced between $2.99 and $9.99.

What if my book is priced over $10?

We prefer to work with e-books priced between $2.99 and $9.99, but it doesn’t mean you cannot submit a more expensive book: it just won’t be free. We’ll ask you to pay the amount equivalent to the price of your book.

To avoid incurring a high cost to reviewers, the reviewer who purchases your book will be required to write one instead of two reviews.

The fee you pay will help us with the maintenance cost of the website and network.

What if my book is priced under $2.99?

We’re sorry, but at this time we don’t accept e-books priced under $2.99. Your price must have been priced at $2.99 or above for at least one month (or since its release for newer titles) to be submitted for reviews.

As our network grows, we’ll add less expensive books.

What genres are eligible for reviews on this network?

Our goal is to accept as many genres as possible, except erotica. We’re starting with fewer genres and we’ll add more progressively as the number of author-reviewers and books grows.

What genres are accepted?

  • Biographies & Memoirs
  • Sports & Outdoors
  • Travel
  • Adventure
  • History

  • Science

  • General Nonfiction (other than listed)

More categories to come after these.

Please note that your book must be assigned to one of the currently-accepted categories and this category must match one of your Amazon-listed browsing categories.

We will not accept books that are poorly executed or might have an unprofessional cover or a blurb that is full of typos and errors.

Is there an entry fee to join the network?

It’s currently free for the first 50 members, but there will be a one-time $50 entry fee to join beginning with the 51st author-reviewer.
The earlier you join, the cheaper it is. Please note, we consider that you’ve joined once you’ve written your first two reviews and your book is offered for review on our network.
Contact us now to be among the first 50 reviewers with free membership.

Is there an annual fee?

No, there is only a one-time membership fee (after the first free 50 members) to join the network as long as your membership remains active. To remain active, we ask you to submit a minimum of 6 reviews per year.
Note that this minimum of 6 reviews per year can be done with a combination of a minimum of three reviews you will write and three others that come from the other authors you have referred.
The goal of this network is for authors to help other authors succeed in publishing their books, not to accumulate passive members.

What’s the average cost of receiving an Amazon verified review?

The price range of books eligible for review is from $2.99 to $9.99.
Thus, your maximum cost to receive a verified Amazon review will be 9.99 x 2 – royalties on the sale of your book. This is a maximum figure.
We’ll try to ensure that the average cost for all reviewers is similar. This means that if the first assigned book costs $9.99, for your second review, we’ll try to give you a choice between books at the lower end of the pricing range. On the other hand, if your first assigned book only costs $2.99, for your second review, we’ll probably suggest books toward the higher range. This means that the average cost for the purchase of two e-books for you to review will probably be between $12 and $15 from which will be deducted any royalties you’ll make on the one guaranteed sale.
Your cost will probably hover between $9 and $12 to receive a verified reviews on Amazon, Goodreads and BookBub. This cost can be lower if you refer other authors (view referral benefits) and/or if you’re ranked as a top reviewer.

There is just no cheaper or better way to get Amazon reviews from verified buyers.

What’s the biggest risk?

There are really no risks in joining the Authors’ Review Network, particularly at the start when membership is free. The worst-case scenario is that you could purchase two ebooks you won’t enjoy. That’s an investment of possibly less than $10 in book purchases.
On the review side, the worst-case scenario would be to receive a poor rating on Amazon, but we’ve taken as many steps as possible to help you avoid receiving a one-star rating, and throughout our process, we encourage high-quality reviews, so most people have a better chance of receiving good honest reviews from our network than they do with other options, whether paid or organic from random readers. You won’t find a better win-win solution for authors.
